Team Reminder: Respect & Kindness

20 Oct 2025 by Cassandra Roupe

Good evening, Braves families,
I want to take a moment to address something that came up at practice today. It was brought to my attention that one of our teammates was teased and made to feel uncomfortable because of their Halloween costume and that a few athletes went as far as to put their hands on this teammate. This kind of behavior doesn’t reflect who we are as a team or the values we work to teach through our program.

Please take a minute to talk with your athletes about showing kindness and respect to every teammate, no matter the situation. It’s important that everyone feels welcome, included, and safe at practice and team events. Also, please remind them to keep their hands to themselves — physical contact, even if meant jokingly, can easily cross a line and make others feel hurt or unsafe.

Our program is built on teamwork, encouragement, and respect — on and off the course. Thank you for your continued support in reinforcing those values at home.
